EMC Acquires Document Sciences for $85 Million

EMC announced the acquisition of Document Sciences (DOCX) for $85 million in cash on December 27, 2007. The deal represents EMC's strategic expansion into transactional content management, which the company identified as the fastest-growing segment of the enterprise content management market. Document Sciences will be integrated into EMC's content management and archiving division.
