Work
I’m VP of Finance at Tide, the UK business-banking and finance platform. Before Tide I spent the better part of seven years at Gusto as Head of Finance & Strategy, through the scaling stretch where the spreadsheets stop holding the company together. Optimizely came before that. The common thread has been turning fast-moving, messy businesses into something legible: the models, the board reporting, and the planning machinery that let a leadership team decide with conviction instead of gut feel.
Along the way I kept hitting the same gap. The best thinking in strategic finance is scattered across blogs, investor letters, benchmark decks, and the heads of a few generous practitioners. There was no fast way to ask a sharp question and get a sourced, opinionated answer. Closing Report is my attempt to close that gap.
Personally
I came up through Bay Area tech: 15 years in finance roles across San Francisco. These days I’m in London with my wife and our two boys. Outside work you’ll find me chasing the kids around a park, lifting, and reading more finance history than is strictly healthy. If any of this resonates, or you just want to argue about SaaS metrics, the LinkedIn link above is the best way to reach me.
