Mariana Minerals' Autonomy-First Approach to U.S. Copper Production
Mariana Minerals has acquired and is modernizing Copper One, a copper mine and refinery in southeastern Utah, deploying autonomous systems and AI software to increase production to 50,000 metric tonnes per year. The U.S. faces a structural copper deficit, importing ~50% of refined copper needs as domestic refining capacity has declined 50% over 25 years. Meeting projected 2050 demand requires doubling global copper capacity—equivalent to mining more copper in the next 25 years than in all human history combined.
